Odour concerns are often addressed on a case-by-case basis, they are subject to specific laws and guidelines.
A typical approach to an odour impacts assessment is generally conducted through the following process 1) development of an emissions model, 2) process analysis and odour pathway, 3) dispersion modeling and 4) Odour Management Plan.
Figure below shows typical odour sources from a Waste Water Treatment plant for modelling purposes.
Most countries such as United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Australia and New Zealand have established specific odour testing protocols and air dispersion modeling practices. ASG Global has significant international project experience and can develop specific Odour Modeling and Assessment Protocol’s that would satisfy regulatory requirements anywhere in the world.
ASG have the capability along with our colleagues in the Olfactometry industry to collect odour samples at source using state of science instruments and techniques and have them analysed by certified odour panels.
ASG will employ state-of-science modelling tools and will work with our clients to develop a management mitigation plan that is acceptable to both the facility and the community.
